“"I didn't know what to expect when I signed up to the 4 sessions with Sarah-Jane. I only knew that as a performer I wanted to be able to explore accessing my voice and letting that be heard in a deeper way. What I received from the sessions tho exceeded my expectations! I met where I was holding my voice back from the world, and Sarah-Jane very gently guided and invited me to find my own unique way through. Even though SJ is extremely gentle and supportive, and obviously has so much wisdom and rich resources to play with, I also felt the depth of her standing in what she offers. There's something ancient about SJ's connection to voicework and you can feel that. The sessions were also playful which I enjoyed immensely. I highly recommend working with SJ if you're curious to understand your voice and the power of working with sound. She's something else!”
This is not about learning how to sing, although if you follow the practices and commit regular time and attention to yourself in this way your voice will naturally open up, become more powerful and feel more freedom of expression as a result.
Cultivating non judgemental, sacred space for your natural voice to emerge so that you can discover its healing powers and profound impact on your emotional, physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
Healing & Health Benefits
Vocalising certain sounds increases your vagal tone* which supports your body to recover faster after stress, to grow, repair, and restore itself. It balances both sides of the brain (thinking and intuition), releases emotion stored/stuck in your body, increases oxygen in your cells, increases lymphatic circulation (which helps to flush out toxins), increases melatonin levels (which support your immune system and has anti-inflammatory effects), releases endorphins (which help to reduce your perception of pain and contribute to feelings of pleasure.

*Vagal tone refers to activity of the Vagus Nerve, the biggest cranial nerve in the body which is responsible for a range of functions, including breathing, heart rate, digestion and the ability to vocalise. Improving vagal tone is thought by neuroscientists to be a key element to improving overall health.
